Ourolago Resort, is about 7-10 minutes drive from the center of Albufeira, a fishing village located typical Portuguese seaside, supermarket (2.5 km), coffee (150 meters), quaint shops, the best restaurants ( 1 km) and famous ruins of the Moorish castle (4 km). Albufeira is where most tourists are looking to find the sandy beaches and popular bars, restaurants, cafes, nightclubs, the Old Town and Oura Strip.There are many activities along the coast, including water skiing, parasailing, fishing, deep sea fishing, banana rides, jet skiing and more. Most beaches have sunbeds and umbrellas with restaurants and snack bars nearby.
Many Golf course can be found in the surrounding area, Balaia is an executive 9-hole golf course with driving range and Golf Academy. Club and trolley hire available. Handicap certificate and appropriate dress necessary. Pine Cliffs is a 9-hole course offering a world famous and challenging cliff top course. Strict dress code. Algarve Shopping Centre is only 7-10 minutes away, with many restaurants, 10 pin bowling, cinema with 9 movie theaters, supermarkets, book stores and many stores like ladies, mens fashions and children's clothing.
Chicken "piri-piri" in Guia is recommended for traditional chicken restaurants.
Sightseeing opportunities nearby include Silves, the former Moorish capital with castle and cathedral, Alte, Estoi, Monchique, Lagos and Cape St Vincent.

Zoo Marine is a large water park in Guia.There is a super Dolphin Show and Parrot, Seal and Bird of Prey Shows. There are also 2 swimming pools, a small theme park and aquarium museum.
There are 2 large water parks along the N125 - Slide and Splash is west of Lagoa and Aqualand in Alcantarilha and Aquashow located in Quarteira.They are generally open during the months of June to September.
Krazyworld is a small Zoo near Algoz which has shows with snakes and crocodiles, pony rides, a petting farm and a restaurant.
The nearest train station is in Ferreiras, with links to the east of the city of Faro, west of Lagos and north to Lisbon (3 hours).
The Moorish capital of Silves, Loulé and poetic Alte are all well worth a visit, as are the Roman ruins of Milreu and the palace of Estoi.
Other family attractions include Karting Almancil and jeep safari trips to the Algarve interior. For those who prefer to turn, the country lanes near the village make their way through orange groves and fig trees fields and cork.
There are wonderful beaches in the old town and the marina of Albufeira, 12 min by car, great to walk around and see the amazing boats, choose your favorite cruise and watch the dolphins, shark fish, conger and reef (some with barbecue and option champagne).
